In this first issue, Inferno, Wilde is convicted of gross indecency and sent to Pentonville Prison, where he is deprived of his three great loves: companionship, good food and drink, and literature. After several weeks he is transferred to Wandsworth Prison, where his health deteriorates, culminating in his confinement to the infirmary.
Issues two and three, to be published later this year, will deal with Wilde's experiences at Reading Gaol.
